Escola.vc is a school management system for municipal education departments in Brazil. Teachers take the roll and enter grades on their phones, parents get absence notices and report cards in an app, and the department sees every school in one panel. Each teacher also carries a panic button that calls the school security agents.

What it does

  • The teacher takes the roll on the phone, even without internet. The app sends it when the connection comes back.
  • Parents and guardians follow absences, grades and messages from the school in their own app.
  • When a teacher holds the panic button, the security agents on duty get the alert with the teacher's location. Once one agent accepts, the others are told.
  • The education department compares its schools side by side, with attendance, enrollment and class records.
  • The file for Educacenso, the national school census, comes out of the records the schools keep during the year, with the missing data pointed out before it is sent.
  • Each network has its own web address, logo and colors, and no network or school can see another's data.

My role

I created Escola.vc in 2021 as a virtual learning environment for schools. It grew out of Educação Interativa, the EdTech startup project I founded in 2019.

In January 2026 I started version 2.0 at Starnorte, and I am in charge of the whole architecture and the development. It turned Escola.vc into a system for the whole municipal network, with three apps on the same records: a web panel for the department and the schools, a mobile app for teachers, students and parents, and an app for the school security agents.
